Fire is a powerful transformer. It transmutes heavy energy into light. It delivers our prayers to the heavens and cleanses our hearts.

Fire ceremonies can be large community events or small, private rituals of renewal. Most often fire ceremonies are held on a full or new moon when the veils between the worlds are thin.

Celebrating the sun’s solstice or equinox with a transformative fire is also a powerful a way to release that which no longer serves our health and wellbeing.

The winter solstice is a time to release the old and invite in the new.  During the longest night it is traditional to celebrate the darkness and invite back the sun into our lives.  It is a time of life, death and rebirth. 

In the northern hemisphere the winter solstice occurs in December, while those in the southern hemisphere experience it in June.  In ancient times, winter festivals were held on or around the winter solstice.
